As Mayor of Narberth I was extremely proud on Saturday 1st December to be part of (probably) Pembrokeshire’s best winter carnival. This year the event took place during the day as well as the evening and gave even more enjoyment to even more people.
The floats were magnificent and a lot of hard work had been put into them. Although it was cold the weather was good, there was no rain and large crowds came out to watch the parade. The ATC marching band led the procession and the floats, Sambadoc band, walkers and fire breathers and artistes followed to entertain the crowds.
The Christmas market during the day showed off much of Pembrokeshire’s finest craftwork and local businesses and it was well attended by visitors. Father Christmas bought cheer to the children as well as a small present. The children’s disco and face painting proved to be very popular. Thanks also to the musicians and singers who entertained the Narberth visitors during the day. Scrumptious food was also available from the various eateries and butchers who set up shop ouside their premises.
I am looking forward to next year’s Carnival which I am sure will be even bigger and better. My thanks to the committee, the Police, Fire service, ambulance, county council, volunteers and people who took part and everyone else who made it such a successful day.
HERE’S TO NEXT YEAR!!
